Housekeeping, and Me
I've finally updated the links at the side. Regretfully took out some of my friends who hadn't updated in a while. I also chopped some of the snarky comments I made about some of the blogs. I enjoyed writing these comments, and they were part of my idea of doing largely unmediated, spontaneous things on this blog, but they were getting old. Of course, there will be new things to get snarky at.
They are a strange bunch of links. Still represents a lot of the stuff I visit, because I am still obsessed by blogs. There are also a few wild cards, which are simply places that linked to me, or a few eccentric women I sort of like.
I haven't really talked about myself here, and maybe that will stay that way. Read a blog entry that sort of summed me up, but I probably won't be able to find it. I'm one of those "nice guys," who's a little too obsessed with books and movies to really pay attention to people. At least I'm not painting little figures, or playing dungeons and dragons, though that's not to disparage those things. I like reading about fans and strange people like that, and look them up on the web, where there's lots, of course. I don't even read a lot of comic books myself, strange considering the number of comics links at right, though you will find me in comic shops once in a while. Suppose I'm more of a tourist, or observer.
Usually, I'm drawing in my sketchbook, which actually replaces my need to do real illustration or comic work, which I don't do much of, unless I'm getting paid for it.
At the moment, I'm making a lot of money from writing, which is also strange, considering this blog, because I really don't write a lot about what I do. I'm going to try to relax about that. I'm a freelance writer, at the moment doing scripts and narration for a TV series called "What's That About?" It's a science show for Discovery Channel and Canal D (French and English), and I'm very lucky to be working on it. This is the second season, but it's not scheduled yet. I'll let you know. The second season has nothing to do with the first season, and the Discovery Channel website has nothing on the show yet.
The show visits a few interesting places, such as the Casino, and the Scrap Yard, and investigate the science behind them, in a leisurely way. Mostly focusing on oddball characters you'll meet 'behind the scenes' in these places (And Canal D won't let us use the phrase "Behind the Scenes," for some odd reason! It's like one of those religious prohibitions.)
Maybe I'm speaking too much, but maybe nobody cares. The work is interesting, because I work with a lot of pleasant people, even though most of my writing is done here at home where I live with my two cats. Actually, it's tough, because there are a lot of heads second-guessing you, and making you put in a lot of things which really won't work, but in ways that's a good challenge. Biggest challenge is not letting it stress you too much. I've got a deadline today for a lot of work, but I think I have it under control, so I'm relaxing, and writing things such as this.

Funny you say that you don't read a lot of comic books. As a poet, I rarely read poetry either. I don't really know why. I prefer to read novels or short stories, or comics. I do enjoy reading hand made poetry books more than the official published ones. They seem more fun, and unpretentious. Anyway, whish you lots of good moments writing at home! There's nothing better!
